The TLC tool room is staffed by a group of highly qualified and experienced toolmakers. It is fully equipped with the most modern precision equipment necessary to perform all operations required to produce the most precise and dependable dies. All die production operations are performed in house from wire EDM and jig grinding through final assembly. The tool room also produces all fixtures and tooling in support of the stator and rotor assembly department. TLC offers three die design options for different production requirements. While the objective is to produce a design which will offer the most economical opportunities for the anticipated production requirements, all options result in a precision part. For short run and prototype requirements, notch dies can be employed or parts can be wire EDM or laser cut. The tooling cost is low and the piece price is somewhat higher. For intermediate quantities up to 3 to 5 million, TLC offers its proprietary die design which offers all of the advantages of a full production tool but at a lower cost. For substantial production requirements, progressive carbide dies are available with a guaranteed life in excess of 25,000,000 pieces. The tool room is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all production dies, both TLC and customer owned and TLC will maintain customer owned dies at no charge for the guaranteed life of the die. The company conducts an in-house toolmaker apprentice training program which ensures the continuous availability of qualified personnel. This program has been in operation for more than ten years. |
