POSITION SUMMARY

Thomson Lamination Company is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join our Quality Department. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our products consistently meet customer specifications and industry quality standards.

The Quality Inspector performs receiving, in-process, and final inspections while supporting daily quality activities throughout the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of manufactured components.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Verify dimensional compliance using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gages, pin gages, and thread gages.
  • Perform visual inspections to verify product conformity.
  • Complete AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports as required.
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
  • Identify and document nonconforming material.
  • Support investigations into quality issues and corrective actions.
  • Perform routine calibration of inspection equipment.
  • Collaborate with production personnel to maintain product quality throughout manufacturing.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and inspection processes.
  • Maintain compliance with company quality procedures and customer requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of Quality Inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, indicators, pin gages, and height gages.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify product nonconformities.
  • Basic computer proficiency for documentation and inspection records.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with experience in one or more of the following are strongly encouraged to apply:

  • Aerospace, Defense, Medical Device, or other high-precision manufacturing environments.
  • AS9100 quality systems.
  • AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports.
  • Keyence IM Series or other vision-based inspection equipment.
  • Calibration systems and gage control.
  • Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action participation.
  • ERP/MRP manufacturing systems.
  • Technical education or certifications related to Quality or Manufacturing.
